A few years ago the fuel pump failed (common problem for these trucks). It too requires the tank to be removed to get at the pump. Given that complication, I opted to let the GM dealer do the work. Cost for labor and parts was $349.39. The pump itself was around $70.
That's a heck of a lot more work for about 1/3 the cost.
I don't think Saab is doing themselves any favors here. A lot of people won't buy another car if they find themselves spending 3X as much on parts and service.
