How could it not be? If I find through experience that I cannot trust the dealer community to to price fairly, I may conclude that I haven't had a good ownership experience and buy some other brand next time.
TG, when I find a good accountant, or mechanic, or plumber who charges me reasonably whether I solicit competitive bids or not, eventually, I stop getting competitive bids and just let them do the work. It saves me time and stress.
However, if I later find my trust has been misplaced, I'm very unlikely to ever go back to that person again. I suspect a lot of people are that way.
