BobS - I thank you for that suggestion.
Because they are sort of a hobby of mine, I have LEDs & resistors on hand.
Breaking this down a little:

I am assuming that by this you mean 1 across the relay's armature and the other showing if there's output to the FP - is that right ?
And if so:
> If they both light up the relay is good and power is being sent to the pump. If neither lights up the ignition switch may be suspect.
The 1st seems workable.
With relation to the 2nd position=> I've noticed when using LEDs in situations with a voltage drop AND a current shortage an LED will continue to light brightly, which could be very misleading at the output (FP) side.
