cutting out the 'middlemen'... Posted by vtsnaab [Email] (#26) [Profile/Gallery] (more from vtsnaab) on Tue, 10 Apr 2012 21:38:57 In Reply to: Re: LED indicators, BobS, Tue, 10 Apr 2012 19:57:31 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Thanks Bob.
Perhaps I've come across as a complete nincompoop, but really, I'm not.
Simple observations thus far allow me to see it thusly:
Since I can hear the FP, no LED needs to tell me if/when it's running.
I have no need to test the IGN switch's other functions, also because those are obvious.
So again I say: I've no desire to tear into my dash, column or the FP/tank itself UNTIL there is some valid way to isolate the fault more clearly.
Hence my prior query:
=>Is it OK to make a temporary, but full-time switched-on circuit jumpering power to the FP, bypassing the IGN sw., relay, etc. ?
=>IF<= it is OK to do that, I'll power on the FP with a manual switch via the fuse panel, run the car that way - and see if the FP fails - which would easily eliminate all the other possible faults.
But I won't do that unless I know it won't harm anything else, or anything worse.
Best Wishes.
