The driveshafts do not control anything related to the position of the hub/spindle/knuckle. Any mis-positioning of the drivetrain left or right is made up in the plunge joint of the tranny. If the tranny is mounted too far to the left, the left axle will bottom out in the inner driver of the trans...and the right axle might pop out of the inner driver. The same is true if the drivetrain is too far to the right...just vice/versa
The A-arms are bolted solid to the body, the A-arms are bolted solid to the balljoints, the balljoints are bolted solid to the steering knuckle. Other than adjusting the upper A-arms with shims, there is no other adjustment.
My 75 also was hit in the right rear and I was told things were bent(axle wise)....it's hard to tell by looking at it if it is.
