Tami: I subscribe to all the car mags, and while I would have enjoyed a better finish, lets look at the facts.
How many cars were faster? Only one, the other Swedish car in the test. Which one had more rear seat room and cargo area? None. Which other car with similar equipment could be had in the real world for the price of the 9-3 SE, including maintenance? None.
They complained about the all weather tires, but my 00' came with Michelin Pilots, so I'm not losing sleep there either. How many cars do as well in the NCAP crash tests in europe?
I can't think of a faster, safer, more practical car for the money, and the insurance rates aren't bad either. Saab owners have the highest level of education of any marque. They care less for status and appreciate uniqueness, practicality, and style, not to mention the company of other Saab owners.
Enjoy your Saab Tami,and ignore your cousin's cravings for validation at your expense. After all, if he is so happy with his car, why should he be concerned about what you're driving?
