If your tires feel heavily out of balance when cold, but smooth out as they warm up. This can be from tires that are out of round, or distorted. There seems to be some suspicions that some Viggens have been sitting around on the new tires for too long, and the tires, being 'green' have developed cold sets and flat spots, involving the rubber compound, cords or both.
Tires change chemically as they age in service. The heat makes the vulcanization continue, and the rubber compounds harden and stiffen.
You can see this as tire age, the flaws in the road surface become much harsher. But cornering response can improve as the sidewalls stiffen. The tread blocks become less sqishy or sqirmy. You can notice this if you are able to NOT wear your tires out quickly. Otherwise, if you do wear tires down quickly, the thiner tread blocks will act firmer just because there is less rubber. I expect that if you are kind to your tires and achieve good wear life, then the tire will age, and that makes it more durable for the long run. Folks who burn up tires very fast, may be consuming the green rubber, before it heat ages significantly.
