Wow it sounds like a room full of GM engineers in here ...lol
Fact is ...more plug gap means more energey needed. More energy means more heat.
Some advice for ya all:
I understand the 9-5 Cassette is very expensive compared to the .... "Get a load of this" 9000's DI cassette part #9178955. I have one I installed on a customers 1999 9-5 a year ago. it works perfect. Only difference is its red in color instead of black AND COST a he** of a lot less. If I owned a DI cassette equipted Saab ...Id have a spare in the trunk. It would be of best interest to shop and buy a spare off the WEB because Its will be a "again" a he** of a lot cheaper than being towed to some dealer and possibly haveing to wait on it to be ordered.
Its about the only ignition failure I have seen on DI systems and most important of all is its fast and easy to replace.
