Guys:
Do you have link for this nines article on synthetic motor oil?
Another retorical question would a M1 5w30 that is ACEA A1, be better than a Valvoline Synpower 5w40 that is rated ACEA A3 (Group III base)?
BTW: I use to work for Ashland (Valvoline's Parent Co.). A few years back at a company function, in an extending discussion with a automotive lubricant engineer. This Geek after many beers, admitted in their tests that there was virtually no difference between full synthetics and blends, in terms of protection for extended oil/change intervals. He claimed all the synthetics on the maket were the same, and over kill in his estimation! Blends were the way to go, same perfomance for half the price!
I am using the Castrol Syntec 5w50 because its the cheapest A3 rated oil, but I am a big fan of Valvoline. I'd use the Valvoline Synpower, but its about $.50/quart more. I've used my whole life, it is truely the "Mechanics Choice". It was the first non parafin based oil.
