I hope I've impressed everyone with my caps-locks skills in the subject.
Seriously, why do people complain about the range of their remotes? I honestly can't think of a single reason why I would want to unalarm/unlock my car from 100ft. If my alarm is going off in a parking lot, I'd probably want to know what caused it to go off so I'd go over to check out the vehicle. I agree the all-in-one remotes have less range than the old style (I recently got a pair of all-in-ones for '00). But I've never thought to myself this was an issue.
In fact, I think it's probably better that the remote is putting out a weak signal, making it less susceptible to eavesdropping from scanners:

I guess one way it could be helpful is if you forget where you parked your car in a large parking lot and you repeatedly hit buttons making it honk, but this wouldn't work with mine as I made the enage/disenage silent (lights still flash though)
Other than that rare occurance, what's the deal?
