Flexibility is designed out of cars, with religious fanaticism. It's the enemy steering, braking, and roadholding. New models are introduced with great attention to the improvements in torsional and bending stiffness (if there's any improvement to call attention to!). The ideal would be to have zero body deflection in the structure, and let the suspension handle all the absorption and deflection.
In safety areas, it's important to have controlled deformation to absorb impact forces, but the goal is to balance the two often different rigidity requirements. Rest assured, however, that Saab engineers would validate my claim that each successive Saab model has featured less structural flex than the one before it.
