....of the original point.
the question is which is better.
i have made my speech about autos, and i stick by it. however, regarding choice of car, i think in both cases the important questions are:
1 - service / maintenance history?
2 - what do you need the car for?
3 - have you done any research on prices etc?
there are always bad stories and such posted, the main reason is because this is a bboard where people air their problems and questions. there won't be many saying 'guess what, my car has been great!'.
i don't mind defending the 9k but it does have faults, same as any other car, but it remains excellent value for money (depending on the above list) and good fun. i have had a few cars now, and the thing i like about the 9k is that its a relaxing long distance cruiser.
as Ari said, both cars are very different. get in them, drive them both and see which you prefer. at the end of the day you are talking about 1k dollar difference - each has its own particular faults and i wouldn't rule out the 9k because of certain stories you have heard. asking which is better here is going to give you polarized answers.
whatever you decide, be assured that (as i am sure you have realised) there is a dedicated following for both cars !!!
