Roll out your garage queen!

This is a great thread to get going. I've wondered about this often. I have a feeling our gas-engined cars will be anachronisms 15-20 years out and only rolled out at "classic" car shows.
Technology is at once a benefit and a hindrance, especially for DIY types. My indy was saying the other day that there are a lot of computers and electronic interfaces in the 9-3SS, all of which need a Tech-2 for coordination when serviced. It's getting harder for the indy shops to keep up, and the manufacturers aren't going to help by making things easier.
And DIY, beyond basic stuff like brakes, fluids, etc., is probably going get harder as hybrids and electrics reach the market.
OTOH... electrics can be nice if done well, as evidenced by Tesla. Sure is gonna be interesting. But I wonder about an electric conversion to a C900 or a 9000....
