In the case of draining the wrong fluid for an automatic, only 1/3 of the fluid is lost and the transmission could conceivably go 3000 miles with the remaining 2/3. In this case, we are looking at 4000 miles (3000 for in-between changes, plus the 900 after the Indie shop work) with only 1/2 cup of oil! I can't believe that is possible.
Why did they not topping it off? Why did they not refuse to release the car for sure death?
I'll try one more time Monday with the Indie.
I look at the car and it gives me pain. Original Rose Quartz paint is somewhat faded but still glossy. Maroon leather has no holes, tears or seam saparations, headliner is fine, dash does have cracks, has Momo steering wheel and the rare 8-spoke optional rims. Mechanically, I installed a new clutch, master and slave cylinders (my first clutch job, a labor of love), steering rack in 2006, everything else was on or ahead of maintenance schedule. Pretty sad.
