I always try to check out my car after the shop had it. They have new people helping on car and even experienced people space out. I have found a screwdriver left in car. I check the fluids to see what is really going on. If you assume all is well you are rolling the dice. You should pop the hood and check fluids on regular basis. You could have a leak, etc. One girl I know went to Jiffy Lube and they left a plastic temporary plug in oil pan which fell out on I5 and seized her Jeep. If she looked under car she would have seen this. If people don't look they will have big expenses. Their choice.
