No, it drains all the differential fluid when you remove that drain plug on an auto. The ATF drain plug is different though but when you drain that, the transmission would be low enough to not shift into gear and I think even a quick lube tech would not mistake the flat screw driver slot plug for an engine oil drain plug.
As I said, it is no good answers.
As Justin says, it's hard to believe that a seasoned Saab tech would grab a 12mm Allen socket or 3/8" square socket instead of the 13mm regular six sided one and loosen the transmission drain plug instead of oil drain. A noob tech yes, but not one that has worked on Saab's for awhile.
And then leave a remark on the work ticket that the transmission is low.
I can see if they don't just add fluid since they don't know if you use Redline or something else.
I use recommended motor oil and that might not be what the customer have in there if they do work them self on their car so that would anger the customer as well.
