probably the tech should have, noting the oil was low, inquired what you used + topped it off + added it to the bill. That is what my indy would do (or he would just do it without asking, but as Anders points out, that can cause problems also - what if the customer wants a different than standard fluid in there?)... I largely agree with Justin though, it's probably just a case of a leak in the past that went unnoticed vs an actual error in the drain/refill process... unfortunate for sure, but hopefully you can fix... I'd keep on good terms + he may be able to help you out to get a replacement tranny in there in a manner that is fair...
