it was NO surprise that BMW won the comparisons. It always wins the comparisons in Car and Driver. I'm not saying that most of the time BMW doesn't earn first place, but C&D are a little biased towards them. Having said that I am a loyal C&D fan...don't always agree with them, but they USUALLY are very objective and I think their performance numbers are usually the most accurate and consistant. As for the BMW handlig better than the AWD Audi, that could be just a matter of tires, which of course should be addressed by Audi. I don't think anyone here will disagree with you that BMW is the handling/ride king...although from what I hear they may be loosing ground to MB and Audi. Even when the new 9-3 arrives, I don't expect it to do much better than midpack in comparisons. SAABs are a balance between performance and practicality and when you are a jack of all trades, it's hard to master one. I do expect that the new 9-3 will at least be in the same league as the vehicles compared in that article...not the outdated outcast.
