a money tree. You can have a 9-3SE for more than $10k less than nicely equipped BMW 330. I don't believe you can convince anyone on this BB that a BMW 330i is $10,000.00 better than a 9-3SE. There is a smaller margin in price for the Lexus and Volvo, but you'd still be hard pressed to convince people here that the price is worth the difference. You knew going into this post that you were going to strike nerves...and you did. Like I said before, C&D really bases their decision on perfomance driving of these sedans, because they are labled as performance sedans and the BMW and Lexus will always do well in this type of comparison. But not everyone drives these cars to their performance limit everyday, which is one place the SAAB will excel. I wonder if the tests had a longer term and people used the cars as people haulers, home-depot getters, and other real-world situations that the outcome would be different. I think the fact that C&D even includes SAABs now in their comparisons shows that the company is on to something. Eitherway, if I were given $45K dollars, I'd buy the 9-3SE,Viggen or the 9-5Aero and keep the $15K,$7K, or $3K change...repectfully. IE I'd leave the other cars to the rest of the world.
