Yeah well words can't describe how p*ssed off I am at her at the moment for having this "amnesia" about changing the oil on my car that she drives :( Tough times. I've got the car in a local general shop right now and apparently they've been using the stethoscope and scratching their heads for the past hour or so trying to figure out their diagnoses. Unfortunately, it's seeming like this break will finally be more than the car is worth :( They say they won't touch it if it's something like a rod, etc.
Anyone have any ideas on whether or not this might be fixable for any reasonable price? When I heard it last night it was a rather loud knock coming from the engine at idle. It would clear when revving, but according to her when she drove it would come back at higher rpms. Also she said the turbo flipped out at one point in time (overboost?). Sound seemed to be coming from the top of the engine at the time. I just wonder with all the problems I've had with the car if it's one of those things where I could dump another 2 grand or so into repair only to have something else ready to break on the engine.
