According to FARS, only two people were killed in the US in Saabs in 98 and 99 driving Saab 98, 99, and 00 Saabs. There were 23 people killed in Acuras in those two years driving 98, 99, and 00 Acuras. Is an extra 4 grand worth it to you for these odds, plus getting to drive something that is not a common thing and which is far more fun to drive? I drove the TL before I bought my 9-5 and the TL didn't begin to have the grin factor. After buying my 9-5, I bought 3 more Saabs, one each for my wife and daughters. My wife has an 00 wagon. Unless you get a real lemon, which is not likely, I think you would really like the 9-5. If your worried about depreciation -- lease. Saab has great leases and you can always buy at the end of the lease. Saab leases are probably cheaper than an Acura lease.
