I doubt it will be a hassle at all. It will also be unnecessary for the customer relations dept to understand how an engine works. When an owner calls in with a problem such as this, they know what the policy is and trust me, it's exremely enforced. Either you have the oil change reciepts or you don't. In the situation of a second owner CPO, a decision becomes a little more difficult because the scheduled maintenance should have been done. Keep in mind that a scheduled maintewnance may have been done but not on file with Saab. If it was not done within 2k either way of the scheduled mileage, Saab doesn't pay for it and becomes customer pay. If that's the case, Saab has no record of it being perfomed even though it may have been done. If it's not a CPO car and you are a second owner of a car with an incomplete maintenance history, you will not be given consideration. Please ask for the history of the car before you buy it. You may change the oil every 5k but it doesn't matter if the previous owner changed it every 20k. Whatever the case, the field service rep always gets informed of the situation and they are the ones who makes the judgement call unless it's so obvious that the car was mistreated. Customer relations very rarely makes this decision.
