OK, you're going to have to 'splain this one for me!
When I asked Saab why they allowed the dealer to use an oil that was not recommended by Saab (bulk 5W-30 is neither the proper type (semi-syn) or classification (ACEA A3) as outlined in my owner's manual), they said they couldn't dictate what the dealers used. If they can't assure any owner that the place of purchase has their proper maintenance interests in mind, why on earth should I subject my purchase to their profit-based abuse?
Or are you saying that users of sub-standard repair practices will NEED to get more $ from the manufacturer for allowing themselves to be taken advantage of by the dealer?
