I have both a 2001 Aero Wagon and a 1999 BMW 540i Sport sedan. I can tell you that the Aero can't touch the 540i in workmanship, ride quality, safety, noise, sportiness, etc...However I enjoy my wagon for its looks esp. with the BBS wheel upgrade and wood steering wheel and door pulls and the fact that I can haul not only my two kids, but makes trips to Home Depot a lot easier. I find the cabin room larger than my BMW and the seat is higher up for a bit more visibility. I do not dislike my Aero it serves more of a weekend purpose and its comfortable. I like its bells and whistles and enjoy the quirkiness of the turbo engine especially at the 5-40 MPH and 50-75 MPH range, the torque is there. BUT COME ON, it can't shake a stick at a 540 when it comes to performance and ride handling.
