Incidentally, IMO Saab competes with MB and BMW for performance and luxury anyways but that's not the point. I like having a powerful, comfortable car that isn't the same as everyone else's.

One day last week, just for fun I counted the number of Mercedes, BMW's and Saabs between the highway and my house (drive thru the neighbourhood) I would have included Audi as well but I was keeping count in my head and I can't keep track of that much data and still keep my car on the road! Anyways, here's the count:

Mercedes- 24, Mostly E,S and the occasional C or SL
BMW- 8 Equal mix of 3,5,7

Saab- 5, including my Aero, about equal mix of 9-3/900 and 9-5/9000

It seems, in my neighbourhood anyways, that MB outnumbers Saab almost 5:1 (in my very scientific poll, based on a 10 minute drive)

Although this was just one short drive, I think everyone will agree that the Saabs are something special and the MB and BMW's, while nice, are just another car.

I often get compliments on my car on the street, at gas stations etc: questions like "what kind of car is that" and "nice wagon!"
I'm sure everyone by now isn't impressed by a silver 3 series.
