Hi,

It appears that you wanted pure luxury. If so, you did not make the
choice with the correct Mind-set.

Comparing Mercedes S-Class with Saab is like comparing a 747 with
an F-16 fighter plane. You're really comparing apples and oranges.
You may as well say, "You know ... I flew on Air Force One and the
leather seats were much better and it had many more amenities than
the F-16". Similarly, if you want to compare a BMW with a Saab 9-5,
you will have to compare it with the galaxy class 540 because 3 class
is a much smaller automobile, and the other 5 series automobiles have
less power than the Aero, and because of the heavy drive-train of BMW,
power to weight ratio of anything other 540 does not stack up to that
of Saab 9-5 Aero. So, now you're comparing apples and oranges again.
540 costs 70% more than a 9-5 Aero in real dollar terms (and not in
MSRP monopoly money).

What we Saab drivers like are the torquey engine (which you mentioned),
best handling characteristics of *any* front wheel drive automobiles,
the cock-pit which surrounds the driver and all of those indescribable
somethings unique to a Saab.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, Singapore doesn't really have many twisty
two-lane black-tops where a 9-5 can take flight.

So, in short, you should have done your homework, my friend :-)

thanks

Jae
