apologise if i've stepped on any toes here. Guess one reason why these seemingly minor and "quirky" points should matter is the sheer cost of a car anywhere but espicially in my country. Here in Singapore, a 2.0 9-5 will set you back about 65K US. The e200 is about 80K with the bimmer at abt 85K. Is it too much to demand certain fundamental qualities that a car should have?

Dunno... just thought that after decades of auto making things would be somewhat better thats all.

Many of you responded claiming that the marques i compared the 9-5 with were in a diff league altogether and while pricewise that might be true, i dont think its wrong either to expect saab to exceed our expectations and rise up to the competition. the 9-5 is the top of the line model so there.

Here's a list of automobiles that are in the same price range as the 95. The Citroen C5, Renault Laguna, Volvo S80 and S60, the VW Passat,, Peugeot 607 and the Alfa 156. All with less of a social/class stigma, all european and all relatively uncommon. How do YOU think Saabs and the 9-5 in particular stack up with sole regards to performance, reliablity and form?I'm especially curious abt the whole Volvo vs Saab thing.... who comes out tops in the end? after all both are safety oriented, swedish and have turbos... if only saab would come out with an all wheel drive model

while the majority of the people on this bb are effusive with praise for their machines, are there many disgruntled Saab owners out there who have sworn to never procure one in their lifetime? Are there many repeat buyers?

I've been a passive saab fan for very long but became an owner only recently so cut me some slack yeah? btw the price of gas in Singapore is abt 70centsUS a liter... it is THE most expensive place in the world to own a car.

Happy motoring all.
Danke
