I didn't mean to inmply that you stated quantity pver quality, just a general statement :o)
When companies sell a deck for $200 their profit margins are at a MINIMUM. So if it is true that a Pioneer deck will have 2 pre outs while Alpine's have only 1, something had to be made cheaper on the Pioneer radio for it to meet the same price point while keeping the same profit margins (Alpine & Eclipse actually have 2 of the smallest dealer markups).
I am not stating ALpine is the best but far from it! I have had probably 10 of their decks & found many faults in every one of them. Neven been a fan of Pioneer stuff either & can't get over the looks of Blaupunct stuff. This time around a Eclipse deck is what I have & I don't have a verdict on that yet, except it was to expensive :o(
I have always looked for decks with less features because usually I don't use them & to me it's waisted $$$. Some features are great while others are complete waiste of space!!
Tweets alone up front!!!! It would sound like complete crap!!! A properly set up system will project everything above the cars dash with excellent depth/imaging. Simply having tweets up front will sound ok above 3500hz but below that, everything would be behind you!!! Just like my friends cavalier, sounds like crap even though he has $1500+ in audio equiptment.
Like I just stated, a full range system should not project into your face or it's set up WRONG! it should be way out infront of you, just like at a concert or listening to a $10,000 ++++ home system :o) If the rear speakers are set up as the main speakers for mid bass, it would be like watching TV except the only speakers that are on, would be behind you :o) YUK
in my cars, all channels consist of a single sub & a single component set, all mounted in the kicks (Except the sub) :o)
I would highly suggest you go to your local car audio shop & listen to one of their employees stereo system, 1 made for SQ & not SPL. SPL cars can sound like it's in your face, YUKx2 :o)
yea, I did it to!!!
