Sorry, I didn't mean to get snippy. I'm just tired of people bad-mouthing what I see as a good product. Your points are well taken and had I paid the full boat for my car, I might be more critical. But compared to the other cars I tried in the 31k range, it was such a no brainer to me that I'm surprised at all the bad press these cars get.
Ironically, the thing I liked least in the Viggen the first few months that I had it was how "perfectly" it handled everything I threw at it. I got the feeling that to get any sort of driving exhilaration out of it, I'd have to break the law so blatantly that I did not want to take the risk (as I depend largely on my car for my livelihood)
I have since heard similar comments from friends that own late model 911's and the like. Cars are so darned good today that to get a real thrill you have to be going way too fast. I'm thinking an underpowered Miata, or even something older isn't such a bad thing. Lots of thrills (some not always for the right reasons!) at reasonable speed....
Anyway, lets call a truce, and maybe Saab will come out with a more sophisticated suspension in the next generation. Whether or not that is a good thing I guess will still depend on one's outlook! Meanwhile, enjoy your car.
