I have a 1999 9-3SE. At one point I had put the Viggen springs into it. What I noticed was that there was more weight transfer to the front because the rear springs are %25 stiffer and the front only %5 stiffer. It had a strange feeling when it came to road feel.
I then put in some Eibach springs which are in the other direction. The rear are progressive and actually feel softer than the stock springs. The car rides great and handling is improved, but only marginally. The ride is better than stock thoough.
I really should have put in Abbott's or Swedish Dynamics springs which are nice and stiff all around.
My point was that I'm wondering if you're feeling the same squirminess in the steering as I did when I had the Viggen springs in. The "fly in this ointment" is that I didn't have the viggen shocks, which are different. Please take that into account. Don't take this input too seriously, it's just a thought.
ps. people seem to have good luck with tire pressure 38psi front, 36 rear. I found that you can have some fun without squealing with this pressure setup.
Good luck,
Bill
