The SP2000's on my car were funky. My theory is that:

A: the tire(s) had potential construction problems

B: the car was built in Feb and sat for 6 months on the tires, much of that time on the NJ docks. I can imagine the heat, combined with the car not moving for an extended time could have cured the tires in the wrong shape. The car would thump horribly for the first 5 miles. Some thumping may be ok in a tire that was run hot and parked, and it goes away.

C: At the dealer ship, when taking delivery, I returned imediately, as the wheels felt out of balance. They checked them, let some air out and I was on my way. The vibration was (and is) still there.

They replaced the dunlosp with Mich pilots sports. I had requested before the service visit, that they have a spare new oem tire available. they couldnot find one. not one, so they really had no choice but to rpelace all four.

If the dunlop tire(s) was made very close to the time it was mounted on the car, then parked, they would indeed have cured with a flat spot (rubber industry experience kicking in). If the tire has this shape based defect, imagine the effect on the cars ability to hold the road.

As I said in another message in one of the BBS's, I can't get the car to ocilate like it did with the dunlops.

However, many other Viggen owners have indicated they did not have the "wicked ocillation" problem. My theory is that Dunlop tires are A) the wrong tire for the car b) compounded by poor manufacturing and C) a major source of this entire discussion about the handling of the car.

As my car is currently setup, I do not think that I need any additional performance enhancements. There is likely a great benefit from the rescue kit, but only when pushing the car to its edge... I try to stay away from the edge as it gives only one direction for correction and if miss it's no more Viggen bliss.....
