Hi,
I'm an engineer. Not all professors are great like Dr. Eric. I had
some really great engineering professors and some others who were socially
challenged. I've been a practicing engineer for 10 years now. Some
days are good, most days are so-so, and some other days are forgettable.
If you *really* don't like the work, you're right about considering
changing professions. It's the rest of your life after all. Changing
course now will be easier than later when you have a family.
Do *not* go into teaching solely because it is an easy alternative.
You have to have the temperament for it and really love the work.
Otherwise, you would be even more miserable than you would have been
had you gone into engineering.
Think carefully and logically about this decision. :-)
thanks
Jae
