So I don't want to force my life onto you on the bulletin board, but I thought I'd post a follow up and ask for any advice...
We went there today and recieved the bill - close to $900 for tie rod end, motor mount, state inspection and diagnostics, apparently a lot of them.
The lights are the problem now, and they had some "insight" into their problem. My high beams don't go on (presumably due to a bad lamplight control relay, this sounds plausible.) They removed the sockets to the front backup lamps and showed me how they had melted to the point that the bulb couldn't be removed - I have them in my hands now, and you can't take them out. I can not find any reference to this part anywhere online - it is a black socket that they told me would cost "a lot" to replace, marked Hella P 21 W. Is this expensive, and where could I get a pair? It looks like something Pep Boys would carry.
One low beam and one fog light still do not work - I will be seeing if the bulbs are to blame, but they believe there is another headlight wire that is grounding poorly and needs repair. Any ideas?
Thanks, Steve
