First off, glad the battery swapout gave you some love.
Now the shop guys look like real clowns, even more than before!
I know that often times radios are sources of small voltage draw that can drain a battery over a day or so. If you're not seeing lights on someplace maybe this would be the issue.
As to the front cluster reversing lamps, most places don't even know about them. I can't imagine someone failing you because these don't light up. If you want to obtain the sockets I'd recommend Goldwing (a site sponsor, not related or affiliated, etc. etc.). They cost a little more but usually have everything and are extremely quality conscious.
As to the relay, yes, have a go at reflowing the solder. A good 75% of the time little flaws in the solder joint are not readily apparent to the unaided eye.
