So I went outside today and put the lamplight relay back in - I opened it to take a look at it the night before but didn't solder anything. I re-plugged the high beam connection that one of the mechanics had apparently left undone, and voila, it began to work - slightly.
Then all hell broke loose. I stepped into the car and it won't start. SRS, dash lights, ANTI LOCK light on. ACC is blinking like a tacky Christmas tree. Power seat works only in pulses. Turning on the seat heater turns off the ACC. Fuel gauge goes from 1/4 to full and fuel light goes on and off. This is occuring with the hi beam disconnected before, in the condition that I drove it home in.
All of this suggests that there is not enough current going to make all of these systems work simultaneously. Is there something I can check without having to pay yet more mechanics? If this wiring problem can't be solved without another whopping mechanic bill, SAABophile or not, that could be it.
