My comments on the v6 are my opinion based on my experience having driven and compared both SAAB engines and the competition. As I said earlier, the whole purpose of a SAAB v6 is for marketing and to broaden the appeal of the brand. Nothing wrong with that except that SAAB does turbo 4 cylinder better and for longer. The size and weight advantages of a 4 cylinder fits into SAAB philosopy. Yes, most people expect a six cylinder in this price range as you do. However I think most people expect more than 200hp from a six at this price range also. The Saab six has the least hp of all its six cylinder competition. I realize the turbo it uses gives it a broad torgue band and good power where it is needed, but again you have to convince the public of that concept. Just like trying to show the public that a properly developed turbo for can have advantages over sixes. I'm glad you enjoy the v6 and hope it gains a solid reputation. Didn't mean to rattle any cages, just my perspective. As for the new v6 coming in future saabs, it is simply a continuation of the plan to broaden the appeal. It seems easier to make a v6 than to convince the public of the advantages of a turbo 4.
