>> How many estimated total hours of working on Saabs do you have? How many head gaskets have you replaced?

John, what the hell does experience changing head gaskets have to do with this issue? I've had five Saabs since '82 and have done most of the work on them. I have never pulled a head gasket on a Saab as I've never had to, but I have on other cars.

>> If you flush your coolant, using phosphate free/silicate free coolant, there is NO NEED TO USE A BANDAID LIKE BARS.

Could be, but BL is good preventive maintenance. Not only does it squelch leaks, something intimate to Saab owners and their flakey heater cores, but it conditions the cooling system by lubricating the water-pump seal and thermostat. What I've presented here over the past few years is that I believe that regular use of BL can permanently fix most Saab heater-core maladies.

If the stuff is a "band-aid," why do the Big Three and dozens of other OEM's install BL in every new car manufactured at their respective factories? Would you please explain to me why the bean counters at GM, Ford, and Daimler-Chrysler allow their factories to install BL in every car that rolls down the assembly line? Would you also explain why Jaguar, Caterpiller, Suzuki, and many other manufacturers recommend its use?

>> I have worked on and have owned 9 Saabs over 15 years. Replaced three head gaskets and have seen what BARs high acidity/head an blosk corrosion do when not chaning coolant....

What? I'm wasting my time here. This doesn't even make any sense.

>> not using the correct coolant, or trying to stop a radiator or water leak with BARs. My opinion is based on approx. 2000 hours working on Saabs 900 thru 9000, B202 thru B212 engines. What is your experiences based on?

I'm impressed. Did you really count all those hours? Now, explain why the hours amassed working on cars has anything to do with your lack of understanding of this issue? Working on cars all day doesn't make you or anyone else a genius, or knowledgeable of this issue.

Since you've had to change so many head gaskets, maybe you're doing something wrong. Try BL, as it can also permanently (as long as BL is installed) plug many head-gasket leaks. I wouldn't recommend oatmeal, egg whites, Acme radiator elixir, or other stop-leak products--but this product works. Research it and become informed.
