I'm not familiar how pricing works in Canada, but here in the 90% North America market, Toureg invoice for $37,624 (VW's usually can be had close to invoice price) with leather available in a $2296 luxury package; Cayenne starts at $46,300, and Porsche usually sells at MSRP. On top of that, VW usually offers subsidized leases, whereas Porsche doesn't.
In any case, Porsche is now part of VW, after spending all their money on a massive leveraged purchase of VW stocks (I have my doubts whether that buying spree was really a take-over attempt or doing what VW management would have done if it had significant profit: buying its own stocks). What's more interesting is that the most profitable years at Porsche in the mid-2000's turns out to be largely due to a speculative bubble in VW stocks, of its own making . . . rather like a Ponzi Scheme.
