I think I made those points, the oil is good at getting to the top of the motor and helping cut down wear, but I would not put that at the top of the list of things I need my oil to accomplish, it needs to hold up to high temps and keep its viscosity when hot and pushed with a turbo charged engine. Our ng900 and 93 cars and even the 95 cars seem to run very hot and the oil did not hold up in my opinion, the actual oil pressure I tested was not acceptable.
This is a performance thread, so I would assume the cars in discussion are tuned cars and this is where it becomes even more of an issue. All my 5 Saabs have tunes on them and run higher boost pressures and push things harder than the stock application, so the oil just does not hold up well in these conditions and my own personal testing showed oil pressure that was too low for my liking.
Another point is that many Saab shops just go by the book and recommend and put in Mobile 1 0w30 or 10w30 oil and in my experience, its just not up to par for a turbo charged engine running hard.
For a stock car or NA car, its probably fine, just not recommended by me for people with a turbo charged engine that is run in a spirited manner. Especially if its tuned and running higher pressures and temps.
Just my opinion and I like to share my own personal experience with this oil that so many think is the best for their car. Oil pressure is not everything, I concede that fact, but it is something to consider,
John
