I've got a '90 900 (my second 900)with about 148k miles and a '93 9000 CDE with about 114k on it. I got them both with about 103k on them. After 3 years and 45k miles I'm just now starting to put some money into my 900. I'm putting a lot more money into my 9000. I'll give you a couple of tips about 9Ks...be sure to keep up with preventative maintenance. They are much more electronically controlled and less forgiving than the 900. I would also search around for some spares of the major electronic control boxes when you can find them at a good price. Eventually you'll probably need them. Pick up a spare DI cassette because it will probably fail without warning at an inopportune time. I recently scored what I consider the "holy grail" of 9K parts...an ACC computer. Having some of these spares will take away a lot of the uncertainty of owning a 9K...and if you eventually don't use them, believe me there will be a market for them.
My wife and I kid that Inga (the 900)is our fun girl and Ula (the 9000) is my high maintenance mistress...;)
