*most* unless you agreee with them. LOL. Give me a subsidie you are for.
So because you are against something and someone is for then it is a smoke screen. What kind of logic is that? That is not logic that is trying to make up rules so you don't have to address the fact of the benefit from them. because you know you loose.
Smoke screen let's talk... In order for the volt 7500 would have to reach the same as a 53 Billion oil subsidie you would have to sell over 7 million volts and ALL people able to collect on the full rebate.
And the cutoff is 200,000 meaning ONLY the first 200,000 electric vehicles sold will receive this rebate. that means a 15 Million subsidie
How does that compare to 53 billion?
I forgot YOUR VEHICLE is way more subsidized then my current vehicle so of course you are not going to bash them and show outrage. And I have been subdizing gas guzzlers like 4x4 and the hummers or the big V8/V6 engines you think the average tax payer you are talking about can pay for those new?
Also, notice I said Upto and upto means upto $7500... It depends on your taxes number one. And it depends on the type of car. Prius qualifies for I beleive a 2350.
Joe schmoe who is buying a car for 10K will be buying used. Just like I did for many of my cars.
And they aren't trying to hit the rich. They are trying to hit someone like me. Someone who is upper middle class but can not afford to buy outright this vehicle. I could afford a cruz on a loan. But heck I couldn't afford the loan on the Volt with the rebate. So I leased at a low price.
Do you understand the nature of supply in demand? So when first the LCDs came out the "average" means people could not afford them. it is always the "upper" mobile people (not rich people who are eithe middle or upper class) to get a product going. Once the demand is created and costs are recouped then the product will start coming down in price.
The problem you have is consumerism and big oil doing everything they can to make sure this doesn't happen until they want it to happen. meaning price sky rocket and the reap a huge windfall.
You must not understand how it saves gas? I am trying to recall the ratio is something like 65% efficeincy through obtaining by the electric companies and 30% when gas is run through the combustion engine. So when running on gasoline it is a 2 to 1 ratio for efficiency in favor of when using the battery.
And again you still miss the point so many people looking in the short term. Do you not get we need to start developing the technology to GET OFF OIL? My heating in my home oil. Products in my room oil. Your car Oil.
Creating a more efficient oil guzzler only gets us until we run out of oil. We need a renewable energy.
And in the end the people you have no sympothy for are exactly the people that are saving the future for your great grandkids. You are welcome.
