year. I'm in a moderate climate. Per my understanding a 0w or 5w oil will give less protection when cold. The 10w flows fine in the cold so I don't understand why all this interest in the 0w and 5w oils. I can see gas mileage being better but more engine wear would result. Have 83k on my newer '91 900 turbo engine with no oil loss after 1 month.
On a different note I've been using Honda MTF ater 1k mile rebuilt tranny break in and it shifts better than Redline and tons better than dino and is less than half the price of Redline.
Let the oil wars continue!
